Send a parcel in China with a foreign passport

Before arranging pickup

1. Ask the recipient for a copyable Chinese address, name and phone number. Check the district and building.
2. Tell the courier what you are sending. Ask about prohibited items, packaging, price and delivery area before paying.
3. Ask whether its outlet can verify a foreign passport. For example, SF Express support is 95338; ask for a staffed outlet that can handle your document.

At handover

Bring the original passport for the required identity check. A document listed in the national rules does not guarantee every app or outlet can process it.

Keep the receipt and tracking number / 运单号. Check that the destination and contact details are right before the courier leaves.

If tracking stalls

Use the courier named on your receipt, not a random tracking website. For SF, open sf-express.com or the official 顺丰速运 app/mini-program and enter the tracking number. Call 95338 with the number and sending date if unresolved.

For another courier, use the support contact on its official receipt or site. International shipping also needs item and customs checks; domestic passport acceptance does not establish export permission.
